PHAR 562: Neuropharmacology

  • Interesting content, especially if you like neuroscience

  • Some profs are better than others

  • Focus your studying more on concepts and applying concepts rather than memorizing

  • Take home exams (25% each)

  • Poster project (25%)

PHAR 563: Endocrine Pharmacology

  • Content is very interesting and tangible, profs are helpful and easy to approach

  • Heavy workload which means lots of ways to boost your grades

  • Be sure to choose wisely you don’t have to take both 563 and 562!! I think Dan Bernard is a great prof and his teaching style is straight forward

  • weekly paper summary/discussion, term paper/presentation and small group discussion

PHAR 503: Drug Discovery and Development

  • Practical knowledge on drug discovery and development

  • Fills up really quickly during registration

  • Be sure to keep on track with weekly quiz and your assignments

  • Quizzes (10% for completion), scientific summary assignment (5%), new and views paper (15%), podcast (10%), and 2 midterms (20% each), in class group assignments (10%), treasure hunt project (10%)
